INTRODUCTION:
Established in 2001, FVP started out as a side business marketing and selling Datalog Peak Performance Computerized Data Acquisition Systems. In 2006, the business turned full time and the diesel component service center was started. In 2014 ,the diesel drive-in service center and second facility was started. Currently, 18 employee's operate FVP out of Sauk City, WI USA.
BACKROUND:
Dennis Frey grew up on a dairy farm and acquired a passion for tractors and diesel engines. After attending and graduating from the Madison Area Technical College Diesel Technology Program, he was employed by Diesel Injection Service (Windsor, WI), a diesel fuel injection and turbocharger repair and distribution facility. There, Dennis began working as a diesel fuel injection technician and evolved through the company as a trainer, technical support manager, and diesel service manager. In 2004, Dennis was awarded the Henry Ortner Jr. Memorial Technical Award. This annual award is presented for outstanding technical contributions to the Association of Diesel Specialists, the Diesel Engine, and Fuel Injection Industry. After 15 years of employment, Dennis resigned from DIS, pursued his dream, and established FVP.
CURRENT BUSINESS:
DIESEL COMPONENT SERVICE CENTER: Specializes in service and repair of diesel fuel injection pumps, injectors, and turbochargers for both original equipment (stock) and high performance tractor & truck pulling and racing applications. FVP also offers many diesel related parts and components for both original equipment (stock) and high performance applications.
FVP is a Distributor for Alliant Power (diesel parts, components, and diesel fuel additives), Steinbauer Tuning Technologies (agricultural & heavy truck performance modules), Premier Performance and Diesel Performance Parts (diesel pickup truck performance products and accessories), Schaeffer’s Lubricants (engine oils, greases, gear lube, and shop lubricants), Isspro (instrumentation & gauges), and Fass (lift pumps, fuel fittings, fuel sumps).
TRACTOR PULLING:
At an early age, Dennis acquired the passion for tractor pulling and started pulling farm tractors in 1984. In 1999, Dennis built Agent Orange (Allis Chalmers 190XT) for the Badger State Tractor Pullers (BSTP) Light Limited Super Stock Class. Agent Orange won the BSTP points championship in 2003 and 2007. Agent Orange was also the finals winner at the 2006 Gordyville, IL Midwest Winter Nationals and 2007 DuQuoin Southern Illinois Shootout. Agent Orange however has been parked since 2011 to allow for more time and focus on this growing business. Stay tuned for the debut of a new project! Over the years, Dennis had worked on and assisted many truck and tractor pullers. Years of pulling experience has provided knowledge that allows FVP to assist our customers in many ways.
FACILITIES:
To allow FVP to operate from their rural home location (town and state zoning restrictions), the homestead barn which is located on the north side of County Road B, was completely renovated into modern office and shop. Growing up and raised on a dairy farm, Dennis saw sentimental value in this old building and is proud that it is again a productive building while maintaining the farm landscape look. In 2021, an addition was built to extend the original barn; this added more technician stations, additional testing equipment, and accommodated the growth of business in recent years. This building serves as the Diesel Component Service Center.
SUMMARY:
We consider FVP as a leader in the diesel industry. FVP has built a “Dream Team” which consists of 21 employee's, many of which have attended and graduated from the Madison Area Technical College Diesel Technology program. Everyone here shares the same passion for diesel! We look forward to serving you for your diesel performance and repair needs.
